If you are able to connect your PS3 to another TV using the same HDMI cable that would rule out your PS3, if it works.....or
does the PS3 itself have any settings that perhaps need to be set to an HDMI output as opposed to Composite or SCART etc?
Also have a look at the HDMI settings in theh TV menu too.
Hmm your PS3 should not be using AV out because your game signal is going into your TV, Try using HDMI 1,2, or 3 also there should be av in components in your TV as well.
The
PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a high-definition gaming console that supports
both standard AV connections and high-resolution connections (such as
HDMI). Most of the older Philips TVs come with a standard AV input.
Newer, flat-panel Philips TVs include standard AV inputs and
high-resolution inputs. To get the best video quality
out of your PS3, using an HDMI connection is recommended if the option
is available. The PS3 does not include an HDMI cable, only a standard AV
cable
2
Connect the flat end of the PS3 AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.
3
Connect the "red," "white" and "yellow" prongs on the
opposite end of the PS3 AV cable into the corresponding "red," "white"
and "yellow" AV inputs on the TV (usually located on the side or in the
back).
4
Press the "Source" button on the Philips TV remote.
5
Select the "AV" video display mode.
6
Turn on the PS3. The PS3 logo will appear on the screen.
did you move the ps3 while it was on. If you did the reset for AV should repair both the AV problem and your HDMI as well. Shoot me a message back if it works or doesn't.
try connecting the ps3 to the HDMI only, now when the ps3 is off and all but the single red light is on rest your finger on the on button for about 8 seconds, as soon as you touch it it will turn on but just wait a bit and you'll here the a second beep- this should reset your ps3's video output settings. Try it out, it works for me when i go back and forth from av to HDMI.
you have to manually change the output in the settings menu back to ANALOG Using an HDMI TV or monitor 1st, when you select RCA, or AV output and restart, it will work, but when you switch back, you have to change it (back to HDMI output) on the analog monitor, or use analog TV inputs, then reboot PS3 and connect HDMI.
I do not know why Sony did not make this switch automatic and self scanning on boot, but alas I have had the same issue, so I know this is your problem, not the AV cables.
Please give a fixya rating if you find this solves your problem, Thanks for the question
Hi to connect your ps3 to your tv all you would need is a hdmi to hdmi connector which would mean the sound would come straight out of your tv. The sound comes directly out of the hdmi cable. If you want to connect the ps3 to an external reciver you might want to get an AV reciver with HDMI inputs. This would connect to your tv and you can switch channels to different sources connected into the receiver, also they come with very good seperate speakers so you wouldnt have to use you telly speakers and you can connect your directv box into it aswell.
Alternatively you can connect the audio phono outputs from your AV multiout connector on your ps3 (the cable should be provided) to a seperate sound system with phono AUX inputs, these are found on most soundsystems but check with whoever your buying it from. But this means that you cant use the HDMI output of your PS3 for video just the AV multiout video signal (which is a bit rubbish, so I suggest the latter solution.
When you connecting sony via hdmi sony and tv must be shut down.First turn on sony then tv.Connect also and av cable or scart then go to sony settings and change out signal via hdmi or scart or av cabel and confirm. That should work
