CMOS Battery replacement

Hello here is a link to the homepage:

http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?cat=sup&s=gen&c=us&l=en&cs=&k=replace+CMOS+battery

And here is the download site for drivers:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/poweredge-xeo6650

Try also to upgrade the bios. just make sure its the right model.

You maybe have to set up the boot settings when you replace the cmos battery or renew the bios.

Good luck

Message "E0412 RPM Fan 2" on front panel

this error is basically telling you that fan 2 is either dead or not spinning at the correct RPM's which means it needs to be replaced. Usually there is a diagram inside the cover that will tell you which fan is fan # 2

My server power edge 6650 cannot detect hard disk... please help me

Write down service tag and express service code from server label.
Call Dell. PowerEdge servers come with lifetime phone support.
I think the number is: (800) 945-3355

If this helps, please vote for my solution.

Can not boot dell 6650 from external dvd

Have you checked boot device options....from BIOS
Use F9 during boot to goto ROM-BIOS and change Boot device option to CDROM/DVDROM.
Insert Boot media or DVD-Win2003, to DVD-ROM device..
reboot Server, try now
If still issue.. Check to boot Server using some other media..
if other cd media works, then it could be DVD-Win2003 faulty, otherwise download firmware for CD/DVDROM and upgrade it and check if DVDROM works, otherwise you have to contact Dell Support..

Beeping PowerEdge 1300

When a Dell server beeps in every 3-5 second that mean it comes from Raid controller.
Dell calls PERC Controller.
It usually reason of a disk failure.

Install open manage server administrator on your server.
See which disks are failed ?

Try to run Power edge diagnostics on the failed disk.
If it passes the test reseat the disk.
if it fails disk has to be replaced with a new one.
If passes the quick test, reseat the disk and update disk + perc firmware and driver to the latest level. that will solve the problem!!

99% beeping comes from perc controller because of a failed HDD

cheers
