My Sony Bravia will play for less than a minute and then reverts to standy. Any suggestions?

if the red light blinks 3 times then the main board is defective so please replace main board & set will become ok

I found new firmware update on uk website, does any one tried?

I have a sony bravia kdl 40v 5100 for less than two years and i did not purchased an extended warranty and now my tv is down.
I have no picture, no sound just a black screen when i turn the power on, the power (green) light is lite up and the tv turns off by itself for like less than 30 seconds. I have tried to press as many buttons on the remote control and on the side of the TV to get any message but nothing seem to happen. Any suggestions and solutions? Thanks

You've got a board going bad - most likely caused by an overheating diode or capacitor. It's going to require a service visit.

The power supply board may have been damaged. Try leaving the TV unplugged overnight so the Tv can discharge and reset itself. If this doesn't work, the power supply board may need to be looked into by a TV repair shop.
If you have some electronic experience and wish to try to fix it yourself, you can most times find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet for less than $20. It will have schematics, diagrams and parts list for your TV.

hello my friend, check the power supply first, probably a fuse,but if the fuses are good you have to call the repairman. ps. i have the same tv brand new in the box with the screen broken so if you need any parts let me know

13 blinks is backlight error.. can be 1 of 2 things, 1st bad inverter board (on left side panel looking from back) it has several plug ins to the panel as it supplies voltage to the backlights.2nd could be panel itself as backlights are built into it they can't be replaced. Inverter is probably around $200 +labor, panel= buy new tv... they are outrageously expensive. Good luck!

While tv in On position, select AV1, push power button to standy, then unplug tv for 5 minuts. check the out come.
