A couple of days ago, I turned on my tv and the green led power button came on and I heard the normal click and then the led light continued to come on and go off all along with the clicking for about three cycles and then finally cut off. I tried again and nothing. I waited about 10 minutes and it did the same thing again, but this time it did finally pop up the picture and sound and appeared fine for about a minute and then cut off again. I unplugged the set for about four hours, plugged it back in and it cut back on and was normal. Turned the tv off that evening and the next day it went through the same sequence of the power button coming on and off and the same clicking sound of the tv trying to come on. Unplugged it again all night and this morning when I got up, the green led power button was constantly blinking and the tv would not come on. I unplugged it and the light continued to blink for about 20 seconds and now nothing. My remote has always been weird and every time you hit the on switch the six buttons right below (tv, dvd, vcr, etc) blink through each button at least once before the tv button finally remains lit. There are also times when the remote will not turn the tv on unless I mess with it for a white. I'm not sure if it is the original remote - it says RCA Universal - we got the tv and remote from a friend about a year ago. We have actually had no problems with the tv and love the picture and sound quality. Just don't want to take it to a repair shop and get ripped off with a bill that is more than the tv is worth. Any help with repairs or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Clicking sound is power relay engaging. If all systems are not functioning properly, unit will shut down to prevent further damage and/or fire hazard

My D52W20 will not turn on. When you hit the power button, it turns green, makes a clicking sound and turns off. It never comes on. Need solution. thanks.
It appears, in reading this board, that this is a common issue with these televisions. Mine also began doing this and would, after repeated attempts, finally turn on and stay on. My "solution", if you want to call it that, was to just leave the TV on once it was on and turn the sound/picture off through my home theater system. This worked wonderfully until the other day when my step-daughter turned off the TV. Now I can't get it back on...
yep that the same problem we have. The green light comes on and flashes turns off. It use to turn the tv on for awhile and then turn off . but now nothing. we changed the flyback and it stills does nothing. This is a peice of ****. dont buy
my tv is pink and green and it makes a poping sound and then you smell burining smell and then the tv shouts off it self
