Samsung HP-R4252 42 in. Plasma HDTV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 14, 2010

I have a permanent dark/black 4.5" wide vertical line on left side of plasma TV. It seems as if it is 4:3 display mode on left side only. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I have no problem changing parts if required, just need to know what part is required. Thanks

Matrix inverter or vertical inverter is not a Samsung part. Is there another name for the faulty parts? Do you have a Samsung part name or number?

    Thank you.

Hello,

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER .

BUT IF OTHERWISE CHECK
x driver cables 10 ohm resistors have loose connections
Hope this will help...

Dp50747 has vertical 2 inch wide black row with a green line up the center, which card might be at fault? thanks

If you have JUST two green lines then your choices are between the buffer boards, YSUS board (all boards on the LEFT side of the TV when looking from the back) and , less likely, the main or plasma controller board. I'd really focus on the first two.

if you have two lines ON TOP of otherwise normal picture then you most likely have a bad panel, specifically the address register ICs embedded in the display's fabric underneath the display ... there's no solution to that I'm afraid.

Two vertical black lines on the screen of my ps50b430

Unless someone played with the TV and disconnected the plasma display from the address buffer boards that go under the screen the prospects aren't good.

All vertical lines in all plasma TVs I have seen are operated by chips embedded in the fabric of the display as well.

When they fail they'd either short or burn open.

In the first case they'd prevent the TV from coming up, in the second they'd typically manifest as either black or a random color vertical line like you have.

This is not repairable...sorry.

The odds of this being something else is fairly minimal in my opinion.

Please don't kill the messenger...

1 vertical black line on samsung plasma tv on left side (model # pn50a450p1dxza)

Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the left top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Some times, the ads attached with each posts both at the right and bottom, might help you to find the availability of spare parts. There are more than 640 posts to different brand TVs now. Will be updated daily. Faults to Samaung Plasma TVs are given in detail.

Green vertical line on videocon 42inch plasma tv

Hello Depending how wide the line is their could be two possible causes.
I have two questions for you.
1. How wide is the line.
2. Does it run from top of screen to bottom of screen?
If the line is thin a single strait line then it is possible the PDP has gone Bad (Panel). (Screen). The screen will to be replaced.
If the line is at least 2 or more inches wide then its a buffer board which can be replaced. LG calls this board Hand insert Boards or display driver boards..

Samsung plasma HPR4272 that had a 4" black vertical line on

There are at least two issues here. First you have bad buffer boards. Second Very possibly a bad X-Main bd and P-Logic bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

42" Panasonic Plasma - Vertical red stripe 6" from left side

We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?
