Cobra 29 red light is normal but if you have two red lights that means that your swr is to high. take all that stuff you put on the antenna connection, get rid of the spring and adjust your antenna using an external swr meter. Get the swrs down around 1.5 and the second red light ,which is the AWI or antenna warning indicator, will also go out.

Can't turn tv on but red light is on

My Colby power button and volume controls quit working. After taking it apart I found behind the buttons are printind circuits. I didn't need to take it apart. I used an exacto knife and peeled up the adhevsive front around the buttons. I used a small screw driver to hold the front apart from the tv. I used some tin foil and placed under the button. Too much tin foil makes a constant contact which you don't want. You just want enough tin foil when you press the button it makes contact with the printed circuit. Test your buttons. If fixed, press adhesive front back against the tv body.

Turn AAA batteries into AA batteries in emergancy

all you need to do is roll up some tin foil into a flat circular shape the size of the battery that you need, circomfrence, not the actual size of the battery, put it against the spring on what ever gadget you need the batteries 4,then push the little AAA battery on the tin foil so it fits tight into the slot where the AA bigger battery should be and WALLA, sorted.your gadget should now work, and its the same principle with all batterys.

Oven door will not remain fully closed

Noiselab is not correct for all cases. As Buzz says, if the springs are strong then the foil fix works and works really well. Refer to attached photo for guidance in conjunction with instructions below. Note my possibly simpler answer at bottom.

I cut some short narrow strips (about 4mm x 20 mm) from a tin can and folded them over into a flattened "U". You can back off the large Phillips head screw on the frame of the oven where the door hinges are inserted and sit the tin over the little plate that is held by these screws and then tighten so that one end of the "U" sits between the oven chassis and the adjustment plate. If it still doesn't quite close add more tin as required. Refer photo for terminology.

Now the simpler solution which I didn't try but which would probably work after I contemplated the problem in retrospect is this. The reason I didn't think of this was that I thought the hinge went into a tube or slot. Later I realised it is just a simple cantilever design which is why the tin foil solution works (ie lifting the middle support of the cantilever produces a corresponding closure of the door). When I inspected the large Phillips head screws to insert the tin foil these were completely loose. Try this first then. Slide the adjustment plate up as high as the tolerance of the Phillips screw allows and then tighten it off hard. This will raise the bottom edge of the plate just as the tin foil method does. If not enough then proceed to the tin foil method.

The spring has broken off one of the battery connections

Try folding tin foil into a small small square that will fit between the battery and the end where the spring was.. Make the little square thinck enough to put a little tention on the battery - to hold in in there..

My xbox360 (wireless) controller keeps turning off if a lil shake is applied to it. (brand new batteries in it) it just keeps turning off and its not just one, it both of mines!

Take the battery pack off, there are two coiled springs that touch the batteries.
Stretch these springs up slightly, but not too much.
Then replace the battery pack.

Power loss/blown lights

Check the battery and alternator. Sounds like an over charge condition. Look for any possibility that water/ice got into any wiring/conections and broke/shorted them.

How do I remove tin foil baked on brand new oven?

Unfortunately you can't remove that foil, you will end up doing more damage to the liner. the only thing you can do is replace the liner. And it's a big job, if the manufacture makes a replacment part for your unit, and if they do it will be costly.
Good luck....

2001 jeep grand cherokee lights

The problem is with the connection from the light bulb holder to the socket that the bulb and holder go into. I believe on my 01 JGC it was the top light that was going out when i applied the brakes with the lights on. If you remove the light bulb holder in the tail light assembly and look at the area that the bulb and holder came from either the metal that makes contact with the holder for the bulb is depressed, or in my case it was cracked. You can use a small flat scewdriver to lift the metal in the tail light assembly, or as i did, i just put some tin foil on top of the metal, then reinstalled the bulb and holder ontop of the tin foil (this makes the elec. connection). seems like a rigged up solution, but made sense to me, and worked!

Yes, we were a couple of dummys when we received our brand new LG stove, with convection oven, glass top and very fancy, and we put tin foil to cover the bottom of the stove and of course yesterday when I...

I really don't know what to tell you. During the clean cycyle the metal probably melted and is permantly sealed to the bottom. You are lucky the oven still works. Sometimes using foil will destroy sensors or other things. NEVER use foil in ANY oven!!!!! The only exception is to partially cover the shelf underneath something you know is going to make a mess. Even then don't cover more than about 60% of the rack.(Never do this in a convection oven as the fan will blow the foil ) Also NEVER!!! allow foil to come in contact with a hot burner. It will melt to the smooth top or coil.

Melted Tin Foil in bottom of oven

Unfortunately, it's too late. The tin foil has melted into the panel and can't be removed. The melted foil will not affect oven operation. You should never place anything on the bottom of a stove that has a hidden element. You will damage the panel. The only option you have is to replace the panel (if replaceable) or the entire oven liner...
