Connect to the component outputs on the back of the dish receiver. This is the output for TV1. Then conncect the ouput of the dvd dr420 to your TV. I am using the HDMI output on the dr420 to connect to an HDMI port on my tv. This results in a 1080p picture on the TV which is sharper than the 1080i from the dish receiver's HDMI cable. My Sony TV has multipe HDMI ports so I can choose betweeen these 2 inputs and can see the differance since Dish only sends 1080p on it's pay for view channels.

Hi, Does this unit work with Dish Network airing in HD? Do I just connect it to the receiver and the Dish program guide will appear? Thanks

Hi julu226, I see you want to connect your Phillips DVD Recorder to theDISH Network receiver. Depending on what receiver and input you have the TV setto as well as the connections on the back of the DVR. I will send a link tohelp with the steps for setup to record the programs you want. http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/d/dvdr3506_37/dvdr3506_37_pss_aen.pdf

I have surroundsound. I have dish network with hd dvr. I have a sony bravia hd tv. I have a dvd player, and cd player. I have a magnavox dvd recorder. I want to record from my dvr to my dvd recorder. ...

To get the functionality you're looking for you'll need to to take the cable running from your DVR output and connect it to the input on your DVD recorder. Next you want to connect a cable from your DVD recorder output and connect it to your TV. If this is an HD set up you want to use HD Cables for all of the connections.

How do I hook up the DR420 directly from cable input to TV. The coax hookup on back of the unit is slip on, but not a regular one fits. limited instructions came with it. I need the right connector and...

Take the unit in to a place like radio shack and have them find the correct cable you need. Make sure you know what connection you need for the TV. this may require a special plug but I would not expect that, there are a ton of different connection cables for different units.

If you have a dish network system as listed in post a DVR 625 this is NOT possible, it will only work with VIP series Dish Network recivers. and they must be used on teh same model reciever such as Vip 722, tranfer to EXT HD then Watch on another 722!

I have a ViP 722. It has no rf output for TV1, just the hookup for TV2. The multi RCA hookup for HD. HD is not as important to me as is a clean picture and audio on my TV. No matter how I do it, I get a...

Okay I am not positive I have this right as far as the configuration of the system but I will give it a shot. If you run the 722 to the tv using rca's you get the hum. I assume this as there are no inputs on a dish 722 receiver. I can suggest one possible solution which is to buy an rf modulator. It will convert the signal from rca to coax so you can connect as you wish. There are several types out there so ensure you get the one that converts from rca to coax. I would suggest the following configuration: Remove all connections from tv and hook 722 up via rca's to rca input 1 on the tv, check for hum. If it is present now you need a new 722 as it is passing to much power thru the connection. If there is no hum connect your cable and tivo to the tv via whatever inputs you have remaining. Lastly connect the DVD player to another input that is free. You will have to system through your inputs to view the three sources but should not have the hum. I hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
