USE KEY BOARD SHORTCUTS TO NAVIGATE or try a mouse and keyboard you plug in.NOT wireless...or go to control panel device manager and uninstall your drivers for mouse and keyboard..restart your computer and see if it works/
The Microsoft wireless mouse comes with a wireless receiver, right? Before you do anything, the first thing that you can try is to replace the batteries with fresh ones.
If same problem occur, try to connect the wireless receiver into different USB ports of the computer. Then check if your wireless receiver and mouse has a connect button. If it does have connect buttons, briefly press the connect button on the receiver, then hold down the connect button on the mouse for 5 seconds. Then release the connect buttons.
If you get the same problem, hold down both connect buttons (receiver and mouse) at the same time for 5 seconds.
Last, try to connect the wireless receiver into different computer. If you get the same problem, send the receiver and mouse to the manufacturer for repair.
Thank you and good luck!
