Check out for bad caps in the power supply first.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My LG FLATRON W1934S was working fine last night. went to turn it on this morning and nothing happened. no orange or blue lights and it wasnt left in sleep mode either. what could be wrong with it?

I would suspect a problem in the monitor power supply, either a fuse or possible bad filter caps especially if you had to turn it on several times to get it on just before it failed.

If you are able to open it here is what bad caps look like:

My LG Flatron W1934S screen is now blank - the power light is blinking on and off, but no picture.

There is no problem with monitor, there is no signal from your VGA card, looking for a problem in your case.

Try it with another PC first just to be sure it is not video card problem.
More likely that it has dying power supply due to bad caps with leaking/bulging tops a shown in my pictures here:

My lg flatron model w1934s was working fine but now it will not come out of power saving mode at all. What should I do?

Try turning it off and hold the power switch in for about a 30 seconds. This may help to reset the monitor. Afterwards, try and power it up again.
