Mju 400 slow down with 2GB xD-PicCard?!?!

Hi. I have a Olympus 400 mju camera for almost 7 years. Everything were well until few months ago. Instead of my old 128 MB xd card which just stoped operating, I'v bought a brand new 2 GB M+ Olympus xD-PictureCard, but... From than, mju 400 starts to terrible slows down. Even if I clean up card (format) and there are no picture on it, it takes almost 15 seconds from opening lens to be prepared for action. In case when I'd some pictures on card, it takes much more time for camera to be prepared for use.
Also, from that point (starting use 2GB xD card), battery life is much shorter.
Is there something wrong with my 2Gb card?
Will 1GB card fix that boring "problems"?
I'm sure that 512MB fix it, but i can not find it in stores ;)
Thnx in advance.

It's possible that your camera, being 7 years old, was never designed for a 2gb card. You can find cards of all sizes at amazon.com

Hi, I have got an Olympus mju 300 Digital camera, and I have bought a 2GB XD Type M+ memory card, however when I put the 2GB memory card in, it takes the camera a good 15 seconds to start up, whereas with...

There are several reasons why could happen:

1. 2GB is a lot of space compared to 16MB. The camera checks the card each time you switch it on.
2. Card is corrupt & should be reformatted.
3. Card is defective & should be replaced.

How to activate panorama?

Panorama shooting lets you create a panoramic picture, using the OLYMPUS
Master software from the provided CD-ROM. An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for Panorama shooting. If the card is a Fuji xD card then the panorama feature would be disabled to you.

I have a olympus 400 mju camera i cannot seem to get the lens back in to close the cover now i have fitted a new battery

This normally happens when dirt or dust particles get caught between the lens segments. Check for this. If you can't do it yourself, take it to the nearest authorized service center.

Yes, it is likely that the larger memory card is slowing your camera down.

Olympus

Without opening the lens cover, press the quick view button then the OK button.  Scroll down to setup and press the right arrow.  Scroll down to the clock symbol and click the right arrow key.
Scroll along the date side to side and use the up and down arrows to change the date month and year.
