Line, faults & possible causes to both Plasma & LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.

the LCD is a very complicating device for all CP. you may check it by disassemble it to it's LCD and connect the ribbon wire/flex of the LCD firmly... but this problem is best to replace it with a new LCD... very complicated device indeed

When you get vertical lines from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen, it means you have bad LCD panel, you need the new one. It will get worst with more lines as time goes by.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop. If the problem appears only on the display of the laptop and not on the external monitor (in the same time) that means the video card is ok and the problem could be: the screen of the laptop or the invertor or the cable that attaches the screen to the motherboard. If the problem appears on both screens, external and laptop, most probably the video card/motherboard is defective.
Have it checked/repaired by a professional.

the minute parts near the picture tube might have misaligned ,,,,,, you need to align those parts .... contact a good tv mechanic .... he will use a magnetic type material and align every minute parts correctly near the picture tube, the red line wont appear again

Both sound like bad LCD panels. The following must be answered to confirm this:
Do the lines appear on all inputs/all signal sources?
Can they be seen in the OSD/menu?
If yes to both questions, it is likely that the LCD panel is bad

Open up the TV and unplug and re-plug the connectors to the circuit boards. This is most often caused by a poor connection of the circuit board connectors.

Hi I have a problem with my bottom screen as well. I was replacing the case as the hinge was broken. When i was putting it back together i noticed a slight tear in the ribbon cable which is attached to the board and the bottom screen.
When I turned it on I found I had poor colour and contrast in the bottom screen however the top screen was fine.
Where this ribbon cable is attached to the board there is two small cables attached to the board beneath it, maybe one of these has come away and needs repositioning or your bottom screen needs replacing.Try this site for diy tipshttp://site.powergamingparts.com

this symptom is what we called vertical fold-over. vertical fold-over is characterised by a white horizontal bar on the bottom or top of the raster due to the concentration or compression of the trace lines. it an image is present, the bottom or top portion is fold over. this is caused by a vertical deflection current with poor linearity, which compresses the trace lines at the bottom or top of the screen. this symptom is is caused by a defective sawtooth wave genetator circuit, or improper biasing or defective feedback circuit of the vertical drive or vertical output transistor/ic. the negative feedback circuit in vertical deflection circuit compensates for the linearity of the trace portion of the sawtooth wave. a decrease in the capacitance of the sawtooth generator capacitor is usually the trouble. but if you do not understand anything what i have written here, better bring it to a qualified tv technician for your own safety also. good luck!
