This machine belongs to my mom, she is requiring an instruction book for model oD4 juki, DCX1 overlocker. my father always took care of the juki industrials machines we had for the bussines, sadley he passed away 2 years ago and we cannot find instruction books he kept so close. this is what my mother is asking for, an instuction book for this make and model. I would like to know if i can get an instuction book or is it instict?
DC x 1 should be your needle type.

Before all else. Turn off machine!
(1) break screws on the hook loose.
(2) tighten one back up very skightly, one you can reach when the needle bar is at its lowest position.
(3) lower needle bar to its lowest position.
(4) loosen the screw just tightened.
(5) position the tip of the hook behind the needle hole. the tip should be as close to the needle hole as possible without actually touching the needle
(6) tighten screws
(7) slowly hand turn the machine (depress the foot pedal to disengage clutch brake on motor) several revolutions to make sure the needle doesn't hit anything on the hook.
(8) if it passes this test, try on a scrap of fabric
SOURCE: skip stitch
The three most obvious causes (other than that of the machine possibly being slightly out of time) are:
1) Too small of a needle size - increase the size.
2) A needle that has a flaw / defect - change the needle.
3) Needle not inserted correctly, either not pushed all the way up into the needle bar, or not installed facing the correct place. On this machine, the small "scarf" in the needle (an indent just above the eye) shouldface the right side of the machine.
SOURCE: rethreading my juki overlock
threading industrial overlockers can be very tricky do you not know anyone who ever worked one in a factory because showing is much easier than telling
SOURCE: I bought a second hand Juki industrial machine ,
upper tension sets the lower thread tension (upper thread is what you see on the underside of the fabric). Bobbin tension is for the thread you see on the top of the fabric
SOURCE: there is a wrong way and right way to insert a new
-If your bobbin case is inserted from the left side of the machine, then the scarff( indentation on the back side of the needle ) should be on the right side as you insert the needle.
