First you would have to get a service manual, this shows you all you need to know about the unit. Without it, it is very difficult to even remove the case. but once inside, it is basically a simple task, to find the drive, remove the fastenings, and the Cable, obtain an EXACT replacement HDD, and reverse the procedure, it may pay to format the HDD first, FAT32, I believe, although your manual will be more specific.

I accidentally put 2 dvd's in my Westinghouse combo player, and now they are stuck....ugh! help pls

The DVD player section will have to be un-assembled. If you are not experienced at this get an experienced service tech to do this. The set will have to be opened up, and most likely the DVD module removed to take it apart.

There is a slight change the DVD unit may have been damaged, and require replacement.

When I was working doing TV and DVD service, I have seen this done before. There is maybe a 30% change the drive will have to be replaced.

Westinghouse LTV-32w4 HDC widescreen DVD Combo

Hi Mouse999. From reading a bit, it seems that there's no region free hacks for the built in dvd player in that specific model. A solution for you, would be to purchase a standalone dvd player, one that is region free or one that has a region free hack available, and to connect it to that tv. If you're in europe and your tv is pal, you also need to have a dvd player that will read both Pal and NTSC video dvd's ! If that doesn't help, please be more specific, i'll be glad to help. Thanks, cheebster.

My dvd disc won't go into the slot on my westinghouse tv even tho tv has been turned on

Are you sure you are installing it correctly? Try both sides and then see if it is accepted. If not, then the drive is bad

Our TV/DVD player (LTV-32w4 HDC) is just out of the 4 year extended warranty we bought. The TV works fine, but the DVD player will not start up. When a disc is inserted, it seems to be trying to start...

Hello
According to your complaint post, the fult is due to its DVD mechanism itself. It will be best to replace the DVD tray mechanism [ plastic made one]. You can bought it from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. But the model fitted with Westinghouse will be very difficult to get. Anyway try to get it. The fault is with loading tray mechanism itself. OK.

You need a T-con Board and I have that one for $80.00.

Westinghouse ltv 32w4 hdc 32.02 in. hdtv lcd tv / dvd combo

My 42" Westinghouse HDMI inputs just stopped working. I thought it was the TW Explorer 4250HDC issue so I got a new one from TW. Still said no signal from HDMI. So, I shut the TV down and pulled the power cord out of the back. I waited a few seconds and reconnected the pwr cord. The TV "re-booted" so to say and now the HDMI inputs work. I think TVTEK has the right idea that it is firmware/software related. In the mean time, you might want to give that a try.
