It really depends on what is most important to you. If you are most concerned about still pictures and want to take an occasional lower quality video, then go with a digital camera. If you want high quality video with an occasional lower quality photo, go with a digital camcorder. Unfortunately to achieve high quality on both products, you still need two different units.
The camera you mention is a nice unit. However keep in mind my above advice before making a purchase either way. The unit is capable of video, but it will not be the quality of a standalone digital camera. Also, if you do decide to utilize your camera for video, have an abundance of memory on hand, preferrably the high speed type. The reason for this is video eats up your memory very rapidly. The reason to use high speed card is so you have smoother video.
