ok go to menue if still you have this problem your panel is not good
but if this problem disappera then this the problem of your T-CON BOARD for falt cables that attached to T-CON board
A vertical line could indicate a faulty lower scan (long skinny boards along the bottom of the set) board, a faulty lower scan connection to the screen or a bad screen altogether!
T'Con board fault. Contact the authorized service centre for Sony. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
The TV should be still under warranty. Most of the flat panel TVs come with a one year warranty from the manufacture. I wouldn't mess with the to void the warranty.
The problem most likely is the buffer/scan boards on the bottom connected to the screen. It controls the vertical image on the screen. The other possibility is the plasma display panel is bad.
Go the warranty route first. This may get expensive to fix.
I have same problem. Toshiba 42' hl196 purchased 4/07 line appeared 1 year and 9 months researched on Toshiba thread. Bad LCD screen. Repair cost more than tv-have to replace lcd screen. I didn't get the extended warranty. If still under warranty get hold of toshiba. Lot of people having same problem. Should get aclass action lawsuit started selling defective LCD screens. unfortunately the panel is bad. I've worked on a number of these panels to know that symptom. I checked with panasonic and the warranty is one year parts and labor. you may be able to get panasonic to fix it if you still have warranty (purchased within 1 yr.) or check with your state's implied warranty. you might qualify for warranty repair under this implied warranty. call panasonic when you find out about the state's rules.
