My battery died in my car how do i unlock my stereo?

This will need to be taken to your local GM garage for them to unlock the radio. They may or may not charge for this service.

Unfortunately Kenwood codes are only available from the Main Dealer or by using a Radio Decoding Service who will connect a laptop to read the working code inside your radio`s memory chip (EEPROM)

You should have a code that came with the owners manual to put in the stereo, if not you`ll have to call dealer for instructions.

if its a factory radio you have find a dealer if its not you dont need the code just take the face off and push rest button

I bought a 1991 Jag XJ6 and the stereo was locked. I called the Jaguar dealer and spoke with a person at the parts desk (Cole European in Walnut Creek CA). He asked for the vin# and looked up the code. I don't think you can plainly see the code in your vin# because my code does not exactly match any of the numbers in the vin#. He did not charge me for giving me the code number, but you might have go in with your license and registration to prove the car is yours.

There is more than one fuse to check. There is also a fuse panel under the hood near the car's battery. Check all fuses. Most cases this fuse can be labeled "Back Up".
