Channel changes automatically

Channels changes continuesly. from channel 2 to 60 in less than 20 seconds or so, very fast. I thought remote button is stuck but I removed the batteries from the remote and operated the TV manually with the same problem.

I can change the source to DVD and play DVD movies with no problem. Only when I am in the TV mode, channel changes automatically. Sometimes it stops at a certain channel randomly for few seconds to minutes and does the same.

There are a few things that can cause this. #1 most often cause is either something spilled on the channel button or something wrong with the bezel where the buttons are located causing the button to be pressed all the time. Check the buttons on the tv and make sure none of them are stuck. #2 is a bad button (switch). Replace the switch or the control board. #3 is a short on the wiring harness going from the switch to the mian board. Maybe it's squished against the frame somewhere. #4 would be a bad main board. You will likely have to take this unit to a service centre to have it looked at.

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

Vizio 32/DirecTV - slow to change channels

Some TVs switch faster than others, plain and simple. I went from a Sony LED to a Sanyo LCD TV and there's a world of difference between the two in terms of how quickly each powers on and how fast one channel goes to the next after inputting the channel number on the respective remotes. The Sony is lightening fast compared to the Sanyo. I have a Phillips LCD in a bedroom that takes a long time as well, like the Sanyo. Personally I think you get speed with either the LED (over the LCD) and/or it's related to the quality and associated price you've paid.

Unlockin all the channels

In order to get all the channels u have to have the original remote or a universal remote that has a menu button, an enter button, and directional pad (the directional pad cannot control the volume and channels it must be for navigating). push and hold the menu button, the menu will appear then disappear, once it disappears release the button and enter 9876 then press enter. a different menu will appear and it will b three black lines, one at the top of the screen, one in the middle and one at bottom. the middle line has 3 sections the first part is the item number the second part is the description and the last part is the on/off switch using either a 0 or 1. push down on the directional pad until u get to the 00 factory settings 0 and change the 0 to a 1 with the right button on the directional pad. then scroll up to 20 channel lock 0 (i think its 20, it may be like 22 but it is in the twenties for sure) and change the 0 to a 1. then go back down to the 00 factory settings and change the 1 back to 0 then turn the tv off. when u turn the tv back on it will either automatically ask u to auto tune or u will have to go to auto program to program the channels. there are like 80 different menu items, be sure not to mess with any other ones unless u know what ur doing, u could cause ur tv not to function properly or even be able to turn on.

this problem frustrated me greatly and im very happy to help whoever i can with the solution

Remote is not working and when i use manual button on TVfor volume & channel change, it get changed to Video 1 and Video 2 and next channel. Every time it is happening like this only.

First, the remote:
If you have a cell phone with a camera, aim the remote at the cell phone, so you can see the front of the remote on the cell phone screen. Press a button on the remote, and see if you can see it blinking through the cell phone screen. If you can, you know the remote is working.
Now, the TV:
Have you programmed the channels in? Run the setup function on the TV to auto-search for channels. It should automatically program all the channels it's currently receiving.
Hope that helps. Please report back and perhaps I can help more.

Channel Changing

Some TV's have a 115 to 125 channel limit then will go to video in and then channel 2 and start over. Your TV's tuner may not have the ability to decode those channels. My suggestion would be to get a set top box (cable box) that can access channels. Your provider should have these or can suggest where to get one. Probably less expensive than a new TV.
