Dryer cuts off after 10 minutes

Hello:
I have a whirlpool LER4634JQ1 electric dryer the turns off after 10 minutes. Once it cools down I press the start button and the dryer resumes normally for another 10+- minutes. The motor is quiet makes no grinding noise as an indication of a possible motor or bearing problem. this seem to be a temperature shutoff issue. Can you point me the right direction?

Agree with you. Make sure the lint collector is clean and ditto for the vent. If it goes up to roof have to check it there also to make sure there are no obstructions whatsoever in vent line. Unit is turning off because it is overheating. If lint collector and vent is squeaky clean and unit blows out like crazy then the temp switch is opening up prematurely and might need replacement or jumping - your call. Electric dryer keeps stopping

Most likely, the operating thermostat has failed, and the high limit thermostat turns off the dryer when it gets too hot. When it cools down, it will start again.

Whirlpool dryer model LER7646EQ1

Thats what it's supposed to do hopefully the clothes are coming out dry. The dryer has both thermal sesors and fuses that tell the dryer when to heat up and when to cool down. So yes the heating element will come on and go off multiple times in a cycle.

Hunting boots no no!

If you have one of those fubuloso wrinkle guard whirlpools, they will buzz and start back up on their own in the cool down portion of the cycle the idea being the 2nd timer will keep the clothes from wrinkling by buzzing and then coming to life for a few minutes. Then it waits 10 minutes and if you aint got the clothes out or opened the door then it will repeat.
