Generater wont stay on cuts on for about 5 minutes then cuts off

needs a new pilot generator

check the valve clearances that's a good place to start if it still has a spark once it has cut out

Have you checked the output of the pilot generator ? Make sure you have a good strong flame on the generator. Sounds like you need a new pilot generator. takes 5 minutes to replace...cost around 40 bucks.

dirty pilot tubing or need new pilot generator

sounds like the carb should be pulled off and cleaned.Make sure to clean the jets and needle valve

it might be the carburator....replace it and see what happens..

It sounds like an low oil censer. make sure the oil level is at the full line.

I am going to guess that this is an air cooled engine. When a genset shutsdown after 5 minutes it could be that the the oil pressure switch is not operating properly, or that output voltage is dropping out. Also, check the speed of the genset using a frequency meter at the outlets. It shouldn't be no more than 62Hz.

some times you have to turn it off 5 minutes a day or it will have network problems. Same happend with me.

Here you'll find parts to repair your heater. a propane heater uses a millivolt generator to sense the flame. along it's cappilary are two push on spde connectors. these connect to the high limit temperature sensor which is mounted on the flame backplate of your heater. to see if it is the high limit shutting down your heater, jumper across the two spade connectors. if the heater stays on, this is your problem. if the flame still goes out, then the millivolt generator is shot.
