Right now the TVs need software update just like the car needs oil change. So you shall do “oil change” first. Click on http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 for Sony software. For further information, please add you commend.

Tv guide doesn't work anymore

I have a Sony model KDL-32BXR6 that the TV Guide first showed no listings this past weekend. Last night when I entered the Guide the screen displaying the Setup/Display Setup Progress came up stating "In Progress". Same thing this morning. Something must have changes with the input signal if this occurred with two different sets.

TV guide abruptly stopped receiving information

Off-Air reception (Antenna) of TV Guide comes from a supplier called Rovi (formally known as Macrovision, Gemstar). They have supplied your local CBS affiliate with a TV Guide application known as SCTE 127 or VBI in MPEG. Follow these steps until you have found a solution to the TV Guide - No Information Available.

1. Check to see if your local CBS station is coming in clearly not tiling.

2. Reset your TV Guide through your TV Guide Menu, for more information copy and paste the link below. (What usually works for me is setting up the guide by putting in 99999 for the zip code then answer all other questions. After it says your TV will receive the guide in 24 hours then setup the guide as you normally would with your zip code).

3. Contact your local CBS affiliate engineer and see if they are having problems with the TV Guide transport stream i.e. SCTE 127 or VBI in MPEG

FYI if you get your service from a Cable TV company they will have to pass this information through their system commonly referred to as Passing PIDS.

I bought a 27 inch tv in 2002 now the tv guide

Here is a whole forum discussing this.

It sounds like you need to reset your local zip code to 99999 then unplug the TV for at least 12 hours. Then plug it back in, reset to your real local zip code and go through the guide setup menus.

Cannot remove tv guide banner from Sony bravia 52'

Click on the display button (upper left corner) as a short term fix - it will turn it off immediately - not sure of how to permanently solve this though.

TV Guide onscreen is the wrong time

I've had this problem before, and always fixed it by going through setup again, setting the zip code to another zipcode nearby, and turning it off overnight. By the next morning the time has fixed itself. This is the only thing that has worked for me consistently.

Help me remove the Guide Plus Grid on my RCA television

Simply enter 00000 for the zip code and complete the set up process; if you're in Canada, select the USA as your country and use the zip. However, you MUST complete the set up, including allowing the TV to search for appropriate code. In the long scheme of things, location and codes don't really matter because you won't see the GUIDE again.

Clicking noise sony bravia kdl-40v3000

Normal 0 My kdl-46v4100 has been off all day and I've heard two or three clicks. It sounds exactly like the click you hear when it’s been off all day and you go to turn it on. A few minuets after it clicked I turned it on and to my surprise there was NO click sound.
This LCD TV (like most large displays) uses an Active Matrix of thin film transistors, aka TFT. Essentially the screen is a large array of transistors and capacitors. According to my previous observations; I suspect the random clicks are associated with the LCD circuitry providing a fresh “standby charge” to the TFT array (hence no click on power on following a “refresh”).

Not a solution, but an explanation other than “cooling off…”
