IM running windowsXP and it will not install the DMC-lZ7 drivers says drivers are not installed for this device in the device manager have installed all the software but thought XP would auto detect it..

Please follow the instructions below to connect your Lumix DMC-LZ7 Digital Camera to your computer

1.Install the software ( LUMIX Simple Viewer or PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-) in the CD-ROM (supplied) to your PC.
2.Set the camera to a mode other than the PRINT Mode.
3.Turn on the camera and the PC
4.Connect the camera to the PC via USB Cable (A) as shown in the diagram.Cable (B) is the optional AC Adaptor ( No need if batteries are used )

4. The drive appears in the [My Computer] folder ( If you are connecting the camera for the first time,the required driver is installed automatically and then the drive appears in [My Computer] )
5. The following message is displayed on the screen during Data Transfer

Go to "My Computer" and locate the camera's drive - it should be detected and show the camera as a device connected to the computer - if it's not then check the "Device Manager" to determine if the driver has been installed. If the driver is not installed, re-install it by loading the disc that came with the camera. You can also reboot the computer while the camera is connected and powered to automatically install the driver.

My DMC-LZ7 started having the same "please replace batteries" error a few weeks ago (bought in 2007). It only seems to happen with my NiMH rechargables, though they test as full-strength with a cheap battery tester. Alkalines don't cause the error and I haven't tried Oxyride (ZR6) batteries yet.

generally common drivers are available from windowsxp on wards,, it should work..

audio recording is not available to all lumix. on dmc lz7, audio recording exists. if you don't get any sound when playing movie on your computer, try use a different video player or try install new audio/video codecs, espacially for mov/mp4 format

If you have windows ME/2000/XP/VISTA, drivers are not needed as windows will auto-detect the device. When you plug it in to the usb on the pc, windows will say "found new device", and then install the appropriate drivers.. From, go into My Computer, there should be a new drive there (could be called DMC, panasonic, digital camera, or just a driver letter like L:\), double click on that folder, then in the DCIM folder should be your pictures.. If you have windows 98/98SE, you can download the driver from HERE

I have reformatted my windows xp and installed all the windowsxp drivers ( EDL71 P/N: DL71000110) namely in the following order:

a.) chipset
b.) graphic
c.) audio
d.) LAN
e.) modem
f. ) card reader
g.) Easy Button
h.) Touch pad
i. ) Wireless LAN
j. ) tv tuner

0nly letter (b) above can not be installed. When i open the DEVICE MANAGER, my VGA controller has a big "yellow question mark". I reinserted the windowsxp drivers and updated the said controller but the same cannot be updated because it can not find the device.

Because of this problem i can not play my pc games.

Furthermore, when i run the set up of the grafix accelerator, the same can not be installed because it indicated that the device does not meet the minimum requirements. Is there any alternative to repair my vga controller? My product's name is INTEL CORP. (ALVISO Laptop)/Chipset: Intel i915PM/GM
