You did wrong step my friend, if your phone locked by sim card you need puk code to unlock samsung sgh-x830 sim lock pin. This puk code is unique and you only can get that from your network provider, that's what is going to be happened if you just insert any puk code from internet to unlock samsung sim card. Now the only option that you have is call your network provider and explain to them your condition, i hope your sim card can be unlocked otherwise you must change new sim card.

Wayne, if you have forgotten the security code then the only way is to get the firmware reinstalled. That is the problem with these codes. You end up deleting all the dat that you were wanting to protect.

While, if you want to remove the code then go to Tools->Phone->Security. And then select the option on phone lock. And remove the code from there.

To unlock your samsung mobile,follows these steps
Do a custom reset:
*2767*2878# once this has finished rebooting turn the phone off.

Next a SIM card from a different service provider needs to be pushed half in - (Push it fully in then slide it back out by about 1/2 a centimeter),
Turn on the phone - you will now see an "Insert SIM" message,

Now perform a full reset:
*2767*3855#

When the phone powers off, quickly push the SIM card fully in, and let
the phone power back up.

After you do the reset, check and make sure that your Network lock is active by pressing *#7465625#

If it isn't active you must use this code to reactivate it:

Then you have to deactivate the SP lock first. To do that you need to input:

The phone is finally unlocked.

1. Insert unaccepted sim to phone.
2. Input *2767*3855# and phone will reboot and will be temporarily unlocked.

4. Input #7465625*638*00000000#
5. Input *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks should now be inactive.

I tested it in my Samsung SGH-C170 without a SIM card and it did work till #2.
