SOURCE: Difficulty playing DVD movie clips

Hi, it depends on the type of movie clips you have on the disk. its possible they maybe avi files. To play on most dvd players you would need to convert them to mpeg 2 which is the format for dvd movies, you can google for software, or if you need more help go to videohelp.com. Normski

Win dvd flikkers while playing a DVD in full screen when my laptop is on battery power. What is wrong??

On battery power, to extend the life of the battery, the CPU slows down, and comes less power per minute.

It's slowed down _too_ much -- it cannot keep-up with the demands of decoding/playing the DVD.

Within "Control Panel", change the "Power" settings, to give the CPU more power (and thus more speed) on "battery" mode.

Or, just connect the AC adapter, and the CPU will run at full speed.

Disc wont play on computer

Hi June,

Have you tried another computer aside from teh one that you are currently using?

Some of the Videos in DVD-RW has its hardware compatibility. It is like the normal Video cassette tape there is Hi8 Video 8, ETC.

You just need to look for the computer that has latest model of the DVD player (DVD rom drive).

If still not loading here's the T/S,

To Open Registry Editor.
1. Click Start, select Run
2. Type "regedit" hit enter
If using Win vista or win 7
1. Click start go to start search
2. Type "regedit" it will show up on the start menu window then click on it or hit enter key.

In the navigation pane, Search for the subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

If not, Follow this:
1. Click on Computer
2. Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. Click on SYSTEM
4. Click on CurrenControlSet
5. Click on Control
6. Click on Class
7. Then look for 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318
8. In the right pane, select UpperFilters and delete it. Do the same with LowerFilters

Note: You can use Search function to find the mentioned subkey quickly.

Note: Before performing the next step, you may want to back up your registry data to be able to restore it in future.

Windvd4

The correct solution is this

navigate to C:\Program Files\InterVideo\WinDVD\Skins
you will see a WinDVD4 folder.

you need to copy the contents of that folder (open folder select all copy) and paste it directly into the \Skins folder. Now everything will work.
