My power button does not stay on (the green lamp)when turned on from the remote or the unit. I checked the fuses on the main circut board and the have contineuity. help model vs-50609 mitsubishi rear...

Could be h.v. splitter.pull the lead coming from the flyback that enters into the h.v.splittter. Put lead in a quart jar and turn the set on and see if you hear a hissing sound, if you don't see a blue arch also. If set stays on then h.v.splitter is bad.

Vs-50609

Good Day, checho3435;

Look for fluid on the PCB's or check these items:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source). Good Luck, big IRISH>

POWER DOES NOT STAY ON...PLZ HELP

Hello carriegomez,

It sounds like you shutdown circuit is being activated. This is due to excess current being drawn. This usually happens in the High Voltage section of the TV or one of the deflection stages. Due to the nature of this problem I would suggest that you take it to a local TV repair shop or have a TV repair person come out and take a look at the issue. The HV section is dangerous and should be dealt with by a qualified TV repair technician.

Thank you,
I hope this helps

No picture no sound

Hi,

Probably, the selftest fails while turning on. If this is the case, press input&menu buttons at the same time for 5 seconds, then the green led will start to blink. Let me know how many times the led blinks.
