About a week or so ago, I noticed there was a short in my power cord,
and I promptly ordered a new one, but was able to continue using the
laptop as long as I didn't move it much, so the short wouldn't be
disconnected.
Eventually, however, the short became completely non-recoverable, and
the laptop's battery dwindled, then went into hibernation. It was in
'hibernation' without any renewed power for 3-5 days.
I received the new power cord, hooked it up, let it charge, and eventually turned it on...
Before actually turning it on, but after charging it, I also moved
everything from my apartment into a house, and other people helped me.
I don't think anything happened, but I am slightly concerned it may
have suffered a bit of moving around, and possibly a bump because of
it? Who knows.
Here is where my problem starts. Ever since this moment, the
computer randomly flashes a blue screen, then promptly reboots itself.
Sometimes the laptop will stay on for hours, or just minutes...and
sometimes it occurs within seconds of rebooting, even after coming up
from such an error.
First, I tried to restore to an earlier point from before the error.
When this did not work, I hooked up the external cd drive and used the
system recovery disk to do a FULL system recovery...thinking this would
surely fix any problems.
It stayed up for a couple hours, then shut down again, and continued as
if nothing changed. -- A few times, after rebooting, the Welcome screen
even comes up with a small message explaining that my profile was
unable to be loaded, and that I was being sent into a default logon
profile. Reformatted again, and it no longer has the logon problem, but it still has the fatal stop error...
I have only had this laptop now since mid-April and paid too much to
not be able to fix this. PLEASE help me. <3 (No it is not in
warranty, however, I bought it from a friend)
Thank you...
