Stovetop ignitor keeps clicking, even when I turn the gas on and off. The knob is not stuck. How can I fix it, or do I have to call a repairman?
There are switches behind the knobs that turn the spark igniters on when they are turned. they usually slide over the shaft and have two wires coming out of them. They are usually wired in series so the way I check them is to unplug the machine and disconnect the last one first then plug it back in. and repeat this until the clicking stops. when it stops you found the switch that is faulty. Take your model number into your local service shop and they can order one for you.Be carefulnot to let the wires touch metal because thes are live when plugged in.
