My phone will not charge for some reason. I have only had it for about 7 months so I don't think anything is wrong with the battery. How do I get my Phone to charge?

It's not the charger, it's the battery pack. The way phones are wired, power goes to the battery pack first and then to the phone electronics. If the battery is more than 18 months old and you keep it plugged in a lot; i.e., don;t allow the phone's battery to discharge near empty each time then battery life will be shortened. Keep phones in temperature extremes will have the same effect. Would recommend you consider getting one of those emergency chemical batteries for your cell phone and try that first before shelling out the bucks for a new NimH battery. (Remember, phone companies don;t make batteries... most are made by Mashushita (Panasonic) or Sanyo (bought out GE's rechargable battery business many years ago.) This may help you locate less expensive OEM batteries for your phone.

Make a soft reset.. By unpluging the battery when the phone is on..

The battery pack is exhausted replace it.

I don't think there's anything you can do to it.
It sounds like the software has become corrupt.
Your best sending it away and letting them cure it. They will wipe everything from the phones memory and re-install all new software.
You'll lose all stored data on your phone, pics, apps the lot!
I've had an HTC for a year, its been in once already and I think it needs to go back again.
I've been told this is a common fault with these phones but through my own experience I've noticed the more technology they squeeze into a phone the more there is to go wrong regardless of the manufacturer. I'm aware of similar problems with Iphone's, Blackberry's, Nokia's.

A sudden drop from 50% to 7% means that the battery is faulty, it is simply a case where it is not holding any charge. I would suggest you contact the seller and check if the battery is under warranty. Hope this helps and good luck.Any question please feel free to ask.

i think your baterry is drained already..try to charge your battery in a universal charger, or a clip charger.then continue charging with your original charger

with rechargeable batteries you have to fully charge it up then completely run the battery dead for the first 3 or 4 times this is what extends the battery life. I have had an LG viewty for 16 months and only charge my phone twice a week. this is a golden rule for all rechargeable batteries

No you never take the battery out and try to charge it. You probally fried something inti.. If you have had it only a few months return it to the store where you purchased it. It is still under warrenty.

Just found a workaround for the "cheap battery" problem. The problem is that there is some circuitry in the more expensive JVC batteries that the generics don't have. When this isn't detected by the camcorder, it won't function. It's a neat trick to make you buy the proprietary battery. Also suspecting that with the JVC battery, if the circuitry gets fried for some reason, the battery will no longer work. Well, the generic battery I have has a plug in the back of it so you can charge it with the JVC factory supplied charger. There was also a jumper cord supplied with the camcorder. Plug this in the back of your cheap battery, plug the other end into your DC port on your camera, and voila! You're in business. Downsides are that you have a short cord between the battery and camcorder and the battery indicator won't work so you'll need a spare.
