There are a couple of different types of control panel mounting methods.
1: there are two phillips heads screws at the bottom of the control panel (just above where it mates to the top of the washer) on the left and right sides that go through the end-caps. The screws are either in the front side of the end-caps or in the back side. They need to be removed to allow the panel to be slid forward slightly and then lifted to be tilted back.
2: The newer style machines are now using spring clips that will need to be depressed with a thin bladed putty knife. You will have to slide the putty knife straight in under the front of the plastic end-caps to release these clips. Pressing them too hard may cause them to pop out of the end-caps , but you can easily re-install them if that happens.
After you get the console loose, you can disconnect the wire jack that goes to the lid switch assembly and then use a flat blade screwdriver to release the cabinet mounting clips.
With the cabinet clips removed you can open the lid and grasp the top of the washer and pull it forward to remove it from the base of the washer.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any other questions!
