Hover washing machine model HNL 7166. The bright colour clothes are comming out of the machine with black marks. I think its the door seal and will replace it. Anyone have the same issue?. Tom

it sounds like the bearings have gone ...are the marks on clothes oil marks ? or grease marks ? this is a sign of bearings. if there rubber marks it will be your door seal thats gone ( dose it leak )
As a guess I would suggest that the mains cable has a break in it, just where the burn marks are, possibly due to flexing back and forth.
REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET.
If it was me I would cut into the cable at the burn marks, strip it back to expose the break, cut back the wires and I would carry out a safe but temporary join- but you are not me!!! You will need to have the cable replaced, sorry ;-0(

Try running a few caps of CLR in the washer (without clothes, of course!) Then run a few cycles with no additives. I've heard that powdered lemonade works also. Might be safer to try first. Good Luck!
I had the same problem, and it turns out that it is NOT the seal. It is the liquid fabric softener. The fabric softener dispenser needs to be cleaned periodically or it gets a black waxy, goopy, build up. It is this same buildup that ends up staining your clothes with dark brown or black stains.
Just remove the dispenser and wash it our very well and the problem will be gone.
