    Hi,

The next time you before you use your unit, please unscrew the water inlet plug (use a quarter-coin) . Rinse and drain the boiler completely several times. Put the unit all back together only without filtered drinking water in the blue reservoir. Turn the unit on and let the unit get up to full temperature (5 minutes). Make sure the temperature of the iron in mid-to high point and the base temperature is on mid to high steam. Hold the iron soleplate down, off to the side and activate the burst of steam at least 3 or 4 times to clear out all the excess water in the system. Do this until the unit is out of steam and red light on base indicates water reservoir is empty. Fill the blue reservoir 3/4 full and let the "flutter" pump is putting water into the boiler. Wait 3-4 minutes, two steam bursts, and things should be fine without excess water puddling. In the future, I use the unit until the reservoir runs dry (removing exess water from the system and iron before shutting it down and letting it cool. Once cool, I open the boiler plug and shake out any excess water, before putting the plug back on and storing the iron away for the next use.

Hi, It is likely you have too much residual water in the iron or have mineral deposits from the tap water you have been using. Rowenta recommends that you use clear filtered drinking or bottled water only. I believe them because the system uses brass & aluminum throughout, so salts or acids would cause corrosion. To clean the system totally, after each ironing session before I put it away, I remove the blue reservoir completely, and run the burst of steam several times until the boiler is empty, and red light indicates it is out of water. I shut the power off and unplug. Wait at least an hour or so, access the boiler tank plug on side & if it is cool to the touch, remove it using a coin (quarter), drain and flush the tank several times with the cleaning tube that came with unit or filtered/drinking bottled water several times over the kitchen sink. Finally, drain all the water completely out of the boiler (I leave the plug & cover off to making sure it is completely dry before putting everything back together, ready for the next time). After several use cycles of the above should clear out the debris. My 1st experience with a used DG980 had exactly the same problem. P.S. before ironing the first article, use several bursts of steam away from the ironing board surface to clear out any standing water that was is in the system. Hope this helps :O)

My Rowenta steamer is brand new never used before. I added the water it worked for 5 minutes then stopped and now it won't steam at all

Hello, Nadya -

Check the warranty information which came with your Rowenta steamer (probably in the owner's manual / instructions. Find out what you need to do to return the steamer for a working replacement.

Best wishes.

My Rowenta dg5030 is not producing steam. The iron plate gets hot and the boiler is hot. Just when you depress the steam button, nothing comes out. There is steam in the boiler. Thank you

The small transfer water-line to the steamer section has closed up. This is due to contamination of salts, accumulated calcium or other debris. Its baked on and not easy to remove. All I can tell you is: always use filtered water or distilled water in the NEW IRON that will replace this one.

Steam comes out the filler cap on the water base on my Rowenta DG5030

WIre brush the caps screw threads and replace the O Ring ASAP.
DOn't use the iron until you get a new O ring and they need to be the orange/red rubber ones they are able to withstand the hot steam black o rings at home depot won't last.

I need to purchase the thermostat/steam generator that is inside the water tank of the rowenta dg050 iron/steamer. where can i find that part? i know it is the problem

I would call a Rowenta service center to find the part and cost. If you are in the US go to the After Sales Service, Service Centers at
http://www.rowentausa.com/rowenta/frame.aspx

If you are outside of the US go to the www.rowenta.com site and select your country.

Is there a product to run through a rowenta pro garment steamer to eliminate build-up?

To start with, use distilled water for steaming. This will prevent calcium build-up. I buy bottles of distilled water for ironing/steaming only. I have never had calcium build-up from using distilled water for ironing/steaming. Do not use tap water!!!

You can buy some CLR (stands for Cacium, Lime & Rust) (can be found at Walgreens, CVS, Target, Walmart, etc.). You can run this product through your steamer to eliminate build-up.

Good luck!
