The water line is shut off (verified by disconnect), yet ice continues to build up in the bottom of the freezer section. We must clear the ice about every 4 days, or it will begin melting to the floor. Both sides cool well.
Since the water line is completely cut-off, the only source of water in the freezer section must be condensation. Is there a condensation drain hole that could be plugged?
Note: The seals around the freezer and frig sections seem to be intact. I can't find an obvious air gap, so I'm assuming the moisture comes from door opening...

Your defrost drain on the freezer side is stopped up causing the drain to freeze over then eventually running out on the floor during the defrost cycle. Locate the drain at the back of the freezer and thaw it out using hot water. Using a screw driver or other object gently push down into the defrost hole and dislodge whatever is stuck there.
An air hose with good air pressure may also work well. When the drain line is clear you should be able to pour water through it freely.
