Dynex L26 10A purchased little less than year ago has audio, but black screen. When first turned on screen will display: "Please Wait", then screen goes black, but audio can be heard. Tried uplugging from power for a time, but that didn't help

Actually found out purchase was June 8, 2009, so warranty expired. Took to store, and they tested and said control board is out and would cost more than what I paid for the TV. So for Dynex $325 only gets you 1 year plus 1 day of TV viewing.

Not worth repairing at that age in my opinion. Technology has moved on in picture quality and prices have become more competitive. Dynex was a budget make to start with.

I have a dynex DX-40L150A11. When turned on the please wait is displayed though not vibrant, then screen goes black. Replaced inverter board still same issue.

Sounds like corrupted firmware. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Why my screen says please wait then goes black

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

CPU On Monitor Dead

The monitor, since it is under warranty is best to be examined by an authorized personnel or replaced. As for your laptop, I dont suppose it has a problem. Only that it should have been configured to send display to the external source once plugged.
There are 3 options
  • Native + External
  • Native alone
  • External alone
Your laptop is configured for the 3rd option. You can change this by getting into display properties and under your graphics card configuration. Please do comment if you need further assistance

No Video but have Audio

I found my product manual and called the Tech Support line. They said it was a problem with the display and would have to schedule and appointment to fix it.

Straight out of the box had 3 pixels out, Now 2 days later a Black Circle.

The white spots are called 'dead pixels' and depending on the manufacturer, they may allow a certain number of them but normally not in the primary viewing area.

The other anomaly shouldn't be there and LCD displays are not affected by magnetic fields as are CRTs.

Return it quickly and I would be reluctant to accept a simple exchange.
Do some checking on the Dynex brand before you take it back though to see if this kind of quality is common to the make.
