I have a Comfort Aie Dehumidifier BHD-501-A (purchased 08//2006)
and it is now leaking oil for somewhere on the bottom of the unit?
I when to empty it and I could smell oil....and It is ruining
my floor tile. I just discovered it when I when to empty it (07/03/2010)? It is supposed to be a sealed system unit. Where is the oil
coming from it is is sealed.??
Would it be covered under the 5 year due to a unit failure and or a defective unit.?
What would cause the oil too just start leaking for who knows where.
Where do I report this problem? Do I call Ace Hardware where it bought it...or do I call the manufactor? I have all my receipts of purchase.
I would appreciate any input or suggestions you may have.!!!!
Thanks Jolena219
Yes, you have a sealed system leak. Call the number in the book. I beleive that unit is manufactured by LG. You will need to have the unit diagnosed at an authorized LG repair provider. If the unit is under warranty, it will then be replaced by LG no charge, including the diagnostic. Make sure to bring in copies of the proof of purchase. The replacement unit will be shipped directly to you, and you will need to return your old unit, but shipping will be covered by LG with a pre-paid shipping label.

Hi,
There
are many reasons why a dehumidifier will not work or collect water.
Here
is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going
wrong with their dehumidifier
Dehumidifier
