Compressor starts then stops after maybe 3 mins

I have a problem with the ac. It starts cooling but the compressor stops after 3 mins. The internal fan and controller seem to work fine.
Do you have any ideas?

Any error codes? If not there may be a mechanical fault with the compressor/inverter. The unit is possibly short on refrigerant, so the compressor is not getting enough suction cooling from return gas, so may be clicking off on its internal over temp klixon.

Hello

Sounds like the compressor is shuting down on high heat. There could be a couple reasons for this.
1 Check that proper voltage is being supplied to compressor.
2 Freon level may be low. This would be a service call.
3 Bad or intermitent connection at thermostat.
4 Main contacts to compressor sticking, usually burnt or pitted.

Ac works at first then stops cooling. turn it off for 10 min and it cools 5 min when turned on

start with having the pressures checked, sounds like your compressor is cycling off due to low pressures...

Cooling problem with my ac.

The start capacitor may be the problem. Is your AC a central unit or window unit? Whats the model and make? If a window unit it could also be the thermostat is defective or too close to evaporator fins. Dirt on the condenser outside can cause the motor to heat up to the point it shuts down to cool the internal overload. Let me Know, Sea Breeze

Haier ESA 3185 AC won't cool; makes escalating loud vibrating noise near front panel/ filter

Have someone check the run capacitor of this unit. If the run capacitor is bad over shorted it can cause the unit to run and short cycle on a current overdraw. This makes for an electrical imbalance in the compressor motor. Next step is the compressor is faulty.
