AC unit LWHD 1800R won't turn on & test/reset does not respond.

I purchased the 18000 BTU unit.......Wired 220 with new breakers......power to the outlet and power to the control panel on the AC unit. The test/reset buttons on the plug-in do not respond and the unit will not turn on...................so I purchased a second 1800 BTU, plugged it in and have the same problem

Reverse the wires in the receptacle ,not the ground, this is most likely the problem the way the circuit is set up in the ac unit.Let me know if this helps.

CONTROLLER IS NOT WORKING BUT AC BLOWER IS DIRECTLY STARTED BUT COMPRESSOR NOT STARTED

You have to try resetting the system. First turn the breaker off for the condenser and wait about 20 seconds. After you turn it back on the system should reset. Air Conditioning Tamarac

AC unit won't turn on

did you verify that you have 110VAC between the neutral/ground terminal at the outlet? Most units require the ground/neutral leg for 110volt controls. Be sure that you hooked up a "hot to each leg and that you have 220/230/240 between the Hot legs and 110 between each hot and ground/neutral. hope this helps

Leto senl/18hd/I or 18hd/o unit keeps turning itself on and switching from heat to a/c mode on it's own.

Is unit still under warranty? If so call manufacturer And request new board and is there a board for outdoor unit? If so, get one of those too. Tell them U will return unused parts. replace outdoor board first and check. replace indoor board and test.

HELP???

What was the voltage that you measured? Are the units 220 volt or 120 volt. Units that size are usually fed by 220 volts. What is the current rateing of the circuit breakers? Are they a double breaker with a handeling capacity of 20 amps or are they 15 amps.

You didn't mention if they ever worked? Are you feeding 120 volts or 220 volts to the two units?

Good luck,

Just put in a new ac unit and replaced a old one. old unit was 18000 btu and the new one is on 12,000 btu I used the same power outlet but the new ac unit starts up but then shuts down and seems like it is...

The 18,000 btu A/C is 230 volts, are you sure the 12,000 btu unit is 230 volts most are 120 volts.
Usually 12,000 btu is the biggest 120 volt A/C you can buy.

Have a hampton bay 24000 BTU AC. Smelled burnig behind control panal. Opened it up found what seems to be an overload switch burnt through.. Leads go to capacitor terminal C & Herm. I changed the...

I checked wiring on my other 17,000 BTU Hampton bay AC & noted there was no overload switch wired into capacitor. So i just removed the burnt out overload switch which was causing a ground & blowing breaker. I noted it was not wired in between the compressor circuit but just attached to the compressor terminal & common terminal on capacitor. I guess it is a sacrafise type device that saves the compressor from burning out on overload. Anyway The AC worked fine with the burnt overload switch removed. It has been runnning 2 days now with no problems. I however did replace the capacitor with a new one. You can use either an oval or round capacitor as there is ample room. Just make sure your cap. values match old one. I will probable try & purchase a new overload switch if possable & install it at a later date, for the extra protection.
