I have a Samsung s730 camera with an SD card, I'm trying to upload my pictures to the computer. When I click on the drive it says choose the program you want to use to open this file. Then I click on windows picture viewer and it says No preview available. But the pictures are definitely on the sd card as I can view them on the camera.

Hi, Here is a tip that may help you with your problem....
I found out that with my cameraI needed to transfer the pictures within the camera to the card and them fromthe card to the computer... The process for your camera may not be exactly the same, but should be similar.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac or Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ) on Windows.
Press the Play mode button (the right-pointing triangle) to get into the PLAY mode. Press the MENU button to display the play mode menu. Use up/down to select "COPY TO CARD."
Usually when you take pictures using NO SD card you can't take the picture, however in this case the pictures you took are stored in a memory bank temp only to test the picture your actually taking. In the manual what's the size of the built in memory card? Usually it's small amount of memory built in
use the usb charger and connect it to your computer, turn on your camera and choose connect to computer then click ok/menu,
on your computer click on my computer and double click on the drive that says removable disk (F:), then it will upload all the pictures to your computer you can only view and delete, but if you want to save it to y our computer you have to select all the pictures right click on the mouse and choose copy and save it to your computer or make a new folder on the deskstop.
other way:
if your computer has a memory card slot reader, then take out your memory card from your camera and place it to the computer and again go to your my computer and double click on the removable disk (F:) drive.
Eliminate the use of software and cables connected to the camera. And use a CARD READER. It's a plug and play device, $8 to $12 walmart, big lots etc. It plugs into a USB port on your computer and you take the memory card out of your camera and plug it into the card reader. Once card is in, go to "MY COMPUTER", and find the new device - open it up and there are all your pictures. A camera memory card is basicly nothing but a flash drive. Now you can do anything you want to the pics. Photo shop them, delete what you want, etc. HAVE FUN!
Hopefully you have already solved this problem, but if not...You need the driver for the camera. It came on the CD that came with your camera. Insert the CD to install the program. Then you should be able to insert the SD card in a card reader plugged in via USB, or plug the camera in with the USB cord, or plug the SD card directly in your computer if it has the slot for it. Any of those actions should trigger Windows to ask you what you want to do. You can copy to your computer or whatever. If you lost the CD (like I did) look on the internet for Samsung S730 drivers. You can download them for free from several sources (even the Samsung site).
I just purchased a frame and wondered the same thing. My computer has a slot for an SD card once inserted the computer shows the SD file. Then go into where you store the pictures highlight the picture one at a time in the picture file my program says copy to file click on it and shows the SD file as F file click copyit then downloads to the card. Done put SD card in frame worked perfectly.
