Unless you've got an "expensive" Freeview box that modulates its output on to the RF (Aerial) connector then you can't. Most Freeview boxes have 2 aerial connectors - 1 IN from the Aerial itself and 1 OUT to connect to the TV - BUT this is ONLY a PASS-THROUGH connection. This means that the digital Freeview signal which is decoded from the aerial signals is NOT output on the OUT connector and sent down the co-axial cable to your TV. Only the "old" ANALOGUE (not Freeview NON DIGITAL) comes down that co-ax. What you should do is connect the Freeview box to your TV with a SCART cable via the SCART connectors on both. You need to select the AV input on the TV using the remote.
Even if you do have an "expensive" box that does modulate the digital decoded programmes and output these of the RF OUT connector, you should still use a SCART cable as the picture produced will be far better
Hope this helps

I can not set up my freeview on my samsung 52 inch LCD can u help me step by step as I hav no instructions thanks

Plug your aerial into the freeview box. Connect a scart lead from the freeview box to your TV and switch on.
The freeview box, if new, will search for channels itself and as your TV will recognise that it is plugged in, will auto switch to the freeview box.
If it is not new, select menu on the freeview box and follow the instructions for tuning.
There is nothing to tune on your TV as you are using a scart lead.
Hope that helps.

How to tune freeview for digihome PVR80 it wont record bbc how to fine tune it .when we had to re-tune for channel 5 it worked perfect so please tell me how to do that again

On your remote control, press 'menu'.
Then select 'set up' on the screen.
Then select 'Installation' on the screen.
Then select 'Automatic channel scan' on the screen.
The box should then scan for all channels, and with luck BBC will be included. If not, please repost. Some older Digihome PVR80s can't cope with the new multiplexing standard employed by digital freeview.

No user manual for CE28DN9-B. Bought TVonics

HELLO

Follow these instructions:

Select a spare channel on your TV say 6 on your remote.

Press MENU.

Scroll down and select PRESET.

Using RIGHT button of F/OK/ENTER press it and this will go to TUNING.

Press RIGHT button again which will let you go to SEMI or AUTO tuning (for your purpose select "SEMI").

Scroll DOWN to highlight the actual UHF channel number or CH:C21 as it may appear on the screen.

Press the RIGHT button again yourself manually and you will see the channel number change anywhere from 21 to 69 until you come to your freeview box's RF channel output.

When you have done that scroll down to Memory and you'll see a box beside it. Press the RIGHT button and a tick will appear in the box.

You have stored your Freeview box RF channel on your TV.

Press MENU button THREE time to come out of the MENU setting.

Use this procedure again if you wish to change the RF channel on your TVONICS box.

GOOD LUCK (:-)

Same problem

Hi,
At lunch time today all freeview boxes have to re-tuned so you will get channel 5 and ready for HDTV.
Some old boxes according to sources are packing up altogether so you have to keep this in mind.
You can re-tune your freeview box using your OSD (on-screen display) and locate re-tune.

If you are unsure how to re-tune the box which many people are having problems with please visit this website for a guide for your model box >>>>

The retuning process is as follows:

  1. Press the [i+] button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
  2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
  3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
  4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
  5. Wait for the process to complete.

If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

TV, freeview, DVD and video set up.

Hi.
Modern day freeview boxes rarely have A modulator in them so you can not tune it to a channel on your tv it must be connected using scart lead.
Most freeview boxes have 2 scart sockets one for VCR & one for TV plug your scart leads in to the scart sockets of freeview they will be labled TV & VCR.
The scart labled TV goes to scart socket on the TV labled AV1 or 1
The scart labled VCR goes to scart socket on VCR labled AV or IN
Now the aerial leads From wall socket to ANT in on freeview.
Then from RF out on freeview to ANT in on VCR.
Then RF out on VCR to ANT in on TV doing this will enable you to put TV on 9 to watch tapes.

The final scart will be from DVD to TV socket marked AV2

You will need to put TV on AV channel to view freeview.
To record freeview you must put VCR to EITHER line.av,aux. it will be one of those different manufacturers call them by varying names.
I have done this banking on your tv having 2 scart sockets if it only has 1 let me know & I will tell you how to wire it differently.
Please state make & model of TV set & VCR & what connections are available EG scart, Phono, Svhs etc.

Can't tune stations from freeview box to DVDR3380/5

You can only record freeview channels through your box.

Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:

  • Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
  • Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV

To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
If you are doing timer recordings, you will also need to leave the freeview box on the channel you wish to record, or set the freeview box timer.
