I plug the usb cord into the computer and the camera. i get this message saying that windows doesnt recognize the usb cable so it cant load the pics onto my computer.
Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.Have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa. Organize edit and share your photos
go to my computer> properties>hardware > device manager >last one universal bus driver click on it>go to driver and update it choose only second option when asked
I had the same problem. I use kodak easyshare software and load my pics on to that. Then put all the pics you want in the picture tray. Have your frame plugged into the computer with your usb cord. Then go up to File menu and drop down to "copy to". On my computer it is Folder "E" which is the drive the frame is connected to. Then pick from the Resize drop down menu " best for picture frame', then click copy. You will see the program loading all the pics to E drive. When done, unplug usb cord and you will see it loading on your pic frame. As easy as this is to do, I found it frustrating as well, but when it works, it is easy. Hope this helps
well i would invest in a hub carrier with it own power sorce 2.0 recomended this should solve your problem well i no it will just go to any com shop and ask for a 2.0 hub or internal usb ports but i must stress it needs to be 2.0 or moor
is the USB device enable in the computers bios does any usb device detected by the computer. or go to the control panel/system/device manager does it show usb devices
try useing it on another computer you dont have to install sony software to use the camera on another computer if it dose work that tells you that its prob your USB port.
Take a close look at the USB socket in the camera and the USB connectors on the cable. There are small gold plated spring contacts in there and they can get bent out of shape very easily.
If this is the case, the cheapest solution is to buy a card reader and bypass the camera to computer connection all together.
