My washer is full of water and won't drain or spin or anything. I intentionally stopped the washer to adjust it to spin the water off so I could restart the load with some more laundry...now it won't restart. Did I break the machine??

The best thing you can use right now is a wet dry shop vac attach it to the end of the drain hose to remove the water.
once you remove the water check the drain hoses and look for anything stuck in the or the drain pump itself and make sure there is nothing blocking the pump.
If all hoses are clear and there is nothing in the pump then you may need to replace the lid switch. There is also a chance that he drain pump is bad.

Washing Machines will not rinse or spin

If the water won't drain out of your washing machine, either something is stuck in the drain hose or pump, or the pump is broken. Both fixes are simple if you're even just a little bit handy with tools. We're showing the repair on a Maytag washing machine.
What is wrong with a washer that does not spin?
If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drivewashing machines do not have belts.) To diagnose the problem, do the following: 1Check the washing machine's spin cycle.

What causes a washing machine not to drain and spin?
If the washer won't drain there might be a clogged pump or hose. It's common for small socks or other small clothing items to get into the water drain system and clog the hose leading to the pump or the pump itself. Remove the hoses from the pump in order to remove the article of clothing.

Duets washer won't drain

Probably a blocked filter, outlet pipe or pump.
Take the drain hose and lay it flat and lower then the level of the drum and this will drain the machine providing the blockage is not solid. When machine is empty check filter , pipes and pump and remove any blockage found.
Replace drain hose and you should then be able to carry on with your wash or spin the clothes.

Electrolux washing machine EWF 1087 will not spin

Hello - If you are having problems with either not draining or spinning, with your front load washing machine, then you need to realize that they can be interrelated. Mostly in that if your washer is not draining the water it will not spin at all or at least not properly. There also can be others problems that will stop or slow down the spin, but the water not draining is the most common one.

So, if you are stuck with a washer that is full of dirty stinky water then here are some things to start checking.

First get that shop vac out or a bunch of rags and a bucket. The water needs to go. The shop vac will pull the water out the drain hose. Just remove it from the standpipe and place the nozzle in the hose and pull the water through the pump and into the shop vac. Of course if you cannot pull the water out this way, you already know that the pump is blocked or clogged, then just vac out all the water you can from the inside of the washer.
If all else fails, remove the front cover and take off the hose going from the tub to the pump. Yeah, water will go all over, but that is what the rags and bucket are for.

When the water is gone, you can then pull all the stuff out of the hose and pump that are causing the problems. Most of these pumps are very easy to take apart and clean out. This will make sure that there isn't anything inside the pump that can stop it. They are not very strong motors and something like a toothpick may stop it.

Now, where this get tricky is that there are sensors that check the water level and adjust the spin. If your water is not draining, your washer will not spin either.

For many washing machine problems that are drain and spin related, this simple cleaning will solve your problem. But there are other possibilities.

The lid switch is the old problem that keeps raising its ugly head on all washers. Bottom line here is that if the washer thinks that the door is open, the things don't work right. Check out the door switch to make sure it is operating properly.

Make sure the new front load washers are on a good solid level surface. If the machine can move around then the sensors will often sense the movement and not allow the machine to reach full spin speed. Some manufactured bases may not be stable enough to give correct readings to the machine. If your washer is moving around, then fix that problem.

The timer can also be a problem. Many will wear out and then get to a point in the cycle, then not advance any further. Also the computer controlled sequencers can also get glitches and may need to be reset. You can check out the timer by manually advancing it, and the computer reset procedure will be in your manual that you received with your washing machine.

By going through this check list you can check out the problems that most handy persons can handle in the home. To make sure you have the best chance at a trouble free washing machine, make sure that you do not leave anything et into your washer that will cause it harm or plug it up.

Not spinning and not draining the water out and stopping on #27 and ld comes on.

My washer is not draining. I used to be able to reset it and it would work but now it wont start on any setting and is full of water. Is there anything i can try.

Hi,
If your Maytag washer is not draining, follow these procedures to find out what is the problem.Set the timer in the spin cycle and pull the knob to turn the washer on. If the washer motor doesn't run, check the following parts.

The wall outlet: Make sure that there are about 120 volts present at the wall outlet. Connect a good working hair dryer to see if it works. If the hair dryer works ok, then the problem has to be in the washer. If the hair dryer doesn't work, then look for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

The lid or door switch : The lid switch is a safety device use to stop the motor from running if the washer door is opened during the agitation or spin cycles. A bad lid switch could be the reason for your washer not draining.

The pump : Check for obstructions inside of the pump and inside of the tub.
Check the pump impeller, the pump belt, check the drain hose for any kinks. Any problems in these parts could be the cause for the Maytag washer not draining.
Lower the drain hose to a bucket to see if the water drains out. If the water won’t drain or just trickles out, most likely there is an obstruction on the pump or inside of the tub and that could cause the washer not draining.
To check the pump, remove the front panel, lean the washer against the wall and bail the water out with a plastic container.
To check the pump, remove the pump belt and turn the pump pulley to make sure that the pulley is turning freely.
Put a couple towels near the pump to catch any water from the pump. Remove the tub to pump hose at and check inside of the pump for any obstruction. If you find an obstruction remove it.
If you don’t find anything, reinstall the hose and remove the hose at the tub, and check for obstructions.
A Maytag washer not draining could be cause simply by a kink drain hose.
You need to make sure that when you replace the pump, you adjust the belts properly.

Whirlpool ultimate care II will not spin

You said, washer is full of water and will not spin. You hear the lid switch clicking. When you start it on spin cycle and hear a hum, the tub moves a couple of inches and then stops...shortly after it shuts off.

Some reasons this may happen
Washer won’t drain or spin
n
1. Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose
more than 72 inches (183 cm) above the floor?
2. Is the lid open? ............Also the lid switch can be faulty!!
The lid must be closed during operation.
3. Is there excessive sudsing?
Always measure detergent. Follow manufacturer’s directions.
4 If you have very soft water, you might need to use less
detergent.

Sounds to me like the lid switch can be faulty!!Then it acts like the lid is open.
