Printer constantly goes offline Officejet Pro L7680

I have an HP Officejet Pro L7680 and it constantly goes offline. I have tried using the printer utilities tool and downloading updated drivers and nothing seems to work. It only last for a couple of days. If I use the printer utility tool it tells me that it does not find a printer on my laptop. Am I correct in just adding a printer through my control panel or do I need to download the "basic" download to get everything I need? Thanks

SOURCE: HP 7210 OfficeJet All-in-One errors

My Hp came with a setup CD that has very specific (required) drivers. Truthfully, if you machine is using the wrong drivers for the selected printer, it will interpret the bi-directional communication with the printer wrong - as evidenced by the false "Paper Jam" message.

Here's a path to HP's drivers for the 72000 series printer and Mac OS.

Hi,

As described by you , there might be an issue with teh spooler service of your computer , u can follow the undermentioned steps that might help you.

  1. Open a Command Prompt window

key the commands
net stop spooler

2. In the run (Start Search for Vista) type : c:/windows/system32/spool/drivers…look for w32x86 folder.

3. Inside w32x86, there will be folders with the names 2 and 3 (one or more of these may be absent - not a problem)
delete all of the files and sub-folders in each of the 2 and 3 folders, but not the folders themselves. Inside 32x86, there may be other folders with names starting with "Hewlett-Packard", "hphp" or something else; delete these folders also
.
4. In the run (Start Search for Vista) type : c:/windows/system32/spool/printers: delete any files there. By default, this is where the print spooler stores print files.
5. Open a Command Prompt window
key the commands
1. sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

(note the space after the = but not before)
2. net start spooler

Cleaning from Registry:

1. Take backup of registry:
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers

  1. There might be two entries names Version-2 and Version-3 under drivers: click the plus sign against them and remove everything under them.
  2. Then click the plus sign against PRINT PROCESSOR, which is under DRIVERS and make sure there is only one entry i.e., WINPRINT. If there is any other entry, just remove it.

The spooler cleaning is complete.

now reinstall the printer .

How do I clean HP officejet Pro L7680 All pictures have severe vertical lines??

Have you tried the "clean print head" option in the HP Officejet Pro software on your computer? This will often fix verticle lines. But, it will use a lot of ink.

I have an hp officejet pro L7680 printer and am having trouble finding new 88xl cartridges for it. Will the 940xl cartridges work in this printer

Hi there,
You cannot install HP 940 Cartriges for Officejet Pro L7650 as they are not compatible and the mechanism is different for both the cartridges,
In your printer, the HP 88 fits on the left bottom corner of the printer and the HP 940 cartridges are mounted on the Printhead inside the printer on HP Officejet 6500 AIO.
