Two factors why you are getting that problem;

-- Operating System (windows is corrupt) or
-- installed memory is defective

..try to swap other memory on your computer or also try inserting your memory to other PC to determine if its working or not, if the problem still exist try to reformat your PC maybe its the Operating System is having the problems.

My iMac froze and won't reboot

Your question is incomplete. Your imac froze and wont reboot. What you see on screen when you start it? Do you see a spining wheel or a folder sign with a question mark or a blue screen? If yes then it's either corrupt/damaged osx or bad hard drive.
Good luck.

Your hard drive may have gone south. Remove it and check with diagnostic software. Bad sectors in critical areas of operating system data will do this.

Blue magellan screen-frozen

sissey05,

Thanks for coming back, although I'm starting to believe I am the last resort for tech support on these models.

This screen as with computers, is the blue screen of death. Unless you can still sync up with your computer and attempt to reload 3.56. If that didn't work, I would replace the hard drive which I'm sure you don't have lying around.

You could try opening the unit up (very gently), removing the hard drive (ribbon) cable, making sure the contacts are clean and re-inserting it.. other then that sissey.. in the shop we would format HDD & re-load the software. Does your computer recognize it?
