I have a Samsung Plasma TV PPM50H2 50" I went to a repair shop and they told me it had a "Power Boost Problem" The TV just dont turn on when plug neither the fans on the back, just the led on the fron it turns green and then redn and you could hear a click un the back when powered.
I would like to kanow wath is the part that in need to be replaced and how much it cost, cause i think the repair shop is asking to much!!! Thanks
SOURCE: Plasma went black. Power not interrupted.
I can confirm Vladislav/ Jaime867's repair... Had the same problem on mine. Replaced the same two capacitors and bingo back in action.
I think the issue is that the capactitors sit between two heat sinks and if the display is flush mounted to the wall there is poor ventilation in there. I'm going to get a better mount and hopefully this doesn't happen again.
Cheers and thanks for the great fix!!! Only $4 bucks!

I followed the suggestion of checking the capacitors on the power board. They were shot so I tried taking the power board to get them replaced. It was really hard to get anyone to help me. Most of the repair shops stated they would not just fix the board and they would only repair it if the whole TV was brought in. One of the smaller shops did help me out. He stated that this is not a Samsung problem, this is a LCD problem. My Samsung was only the second Samsung he has fixed in 4 months. He stated he has worked on many other brands daily with the same problem. This made me feel better after hearing all the problems and complaints on this thread. The shop actually replaced all seven capacitors with 35v ones. He states blown capacitors won't be an issue in the future. He explained that during some busy screen play, especially with HD gaming, these capacitors end up running 12-14v through them and that's what destroys the 10v capacitors. It's like putting a gallon and a half of water in a one gallon container and something has to give. Sorry, I like to educate and explain things so am a little long winded. In Short: If you are experiencing clicking in your Samsung, Don't throw it out, Don't curse it, and call around to see who will not just replace the parts but potentially upgrade board to prevent future visits.

It was not your power board, Thought the same on several repairs.Found out it was the main board. The clicking was the tuner relay. I bet you own a SP-R4232. If so,The part you need is BN41-00574A. Also might be under BN94-00669A. Hard to find. Try Shop Jimmy/Or Encompass Parts. Not cheep tho. Hope this info helps.
Have a happy new year. Todd

When you remove the back of the set. You will fined a couple of caps on the power supply board that are bulged and they need to be replaced, or you can buy a new power supply at www.partstore.com. If you want to just purchase the caps, you can get them at www.mcmelectronics.com
