My IP90 does not respond to new color ink cartrige. It tells me to install new cartrige but does not recognize that the new cartrige has been installed. I have tried several cartiges with no luck.

The cartridge sensor contacts with fine pins which are very easy to bend. Straighten these and it will work fine. They are hard to see, might need mirror.

Keeps telling me the following ink tank is not installed - color ink tank It is installed and i have replaced it with a new one

That printer has a little switch on the carriage assembly that is made when the ink is put in. It's a tiny switch easily broken, and you have to replace the carriage assembly if it's broken. Make sure you place the ink in properly, the right side goes in under the ledge and then press down the left side.

My canon iP90 portable printer stopped recognizing the installation of the color ink tank. It keeps asking to install the color ink cartridge and won't print until the color ink cartridge is recognized

According to Canon, the if several actions did not correct the issue, it was a hardware problem. They sent me the location of the closest repair shop. I spoke to them and to do the repair is $80 + parts which my research estimated at between $50-$80, for a total cost of $130-$160 plus 10% cook county Illinois sales tax. I have ordered a new updated printer for a total of $215 plus no tax or shipping charge. I'll be taking the old printer to a location for recycling. I can't believe how disposable this equipment has become. What a waste of raw materials and energy.

Printer does not recognize a full ink cartrige. Problem has responded to removing and then replacing the cartrige in the past, but that no longer works.

try to unplug your printer while it is in ON state ...it reset all your settings and after that it can recognizes your full cartridges..

Canon iP90 only prints blank pages

Remove the printer from control panel, under installed printers, then unplug the usb cable and reinstall the printer drivers using printer cd, or download from canon support website.

IP90 WONT PRINT BLACK

I had this problem recently with my IP90. Both the black and color heads were clogged. After running the "canned" routines several times to clean the heads and deep clean the heads...still didn't help...here's what I did:

1. open the top lid to have the cartridges that are inserted in the print head move to the middle of the printer.
2. remove both cartridges
3. What is left there is the print head holder. Slightly move it to the right and gently lift the print head lock.
4. Grasp the print head and lift it out of the tank.
5. Have several paper towels hand and know that you will have color and bw ink on your fingers
6. Put the print head on the paper towel
7. Pour rubbing alcohol on the blk and color heads and let them sit of about 10-15 minutes.
8. after that dry the heads and re-insert them in the printer
9. I put new cartridges in the printer and ran clean and deep clean a few times.
10. My color and black and white print came right back!

Hope this helps.

Canon IP90 portable . No ink printing.

Have you performed a nozzle test? If one or more of the colors is missing when you do the nozzle test, the printhead itself is likely in need of replacement.

Before considering replacment, perform a clean on the printer. Due to variations between mac and pc, please see your documentation / support files on how to perform the clean on your printer.

After performing the clean, again perform the nozzle check to see if the problem is resolved.

If still not resolved, remove and re-install any cartridges you recently replaced to make certain they are installed correctly.
