I'm not surprised that it advances on the end. The VCR doesn't know where the end of the taped programme is. You will have to search manually for it. Start at the end of the tape and rewind a few minutes worth of recording then press 'play' and see what you get. If not successful rewind further and try again, etc, etc. Alternatively you could press "play +rewind" which should allow you to watch the record on what is fast (=x2) rewind. It will help you if you know how long the show was and at what point the tape was when recording started.
It may be the tape(s) themselves. Pre-recorded cassette tapes are usually no problem for most players, but many user-recorded tapes were of the C90 or C120 variety. These cassettes use much thinner tape in order to get the recording time. This can cause the tape, after many starts and stops and partial fast-forwards and rewinds to get tight on the reels. This will cause the tape sensor to think that the tape is at the end of the reel when it is not. Sometimes rewinding from end-to-end will help, but not always,
Hi, Does the tape move when you press rewind or fast forward. If the tape moves for a few seconds then bleeps it sound like a sensor problem. If it only bleeps when the rewind and fast forward are pressed and the play is ok it sounds like the actuator motor is faulty, this motor enables the rewind and fast forward. Hope this helps.
Make sure the button for back space is not at max is the second button from the right side if problem don’t get fix unplug the pedal from unit and try to play and stop if unit work Okthe problem is your pedal. Needs to be replaced.
that's my problem too. I'm going to try the solutions for the "remove tape" problem when trying to record--use dry head cleaner and the other options, check out that thread,
