SOURCE: dewalt 18 volt cordless drill

Use a pipe wrench on it to give yourself a little more leverage. It is simply jammed all the way open and it will release when you apply enough force.

SOURCE: the chuck is stuck on 18 volt dewalt drill

It is not the chuck that is stuck, it is probably the armature. Probably a problem with the brushes. Since it is so easy I would try first unscrewing the caps and pulling the brushes out to see if things spin then. If the brush will not come out then it is probably jambed and you would have to take the drill apart. If you take the brushes out and still have a problem, at least one reasonable but simply checked problem is eliminated.

Kobalt cordless drill keyless chuck stuck shut

I have the same problem. It got progressively worse over time. The chuck did not want to tighten all the way at times and then got stuck open. There is a screw in the center to hold the chuck on. It is a left hand thread and I believe it loosened and the jaws became jammed on the loose screw. I tapped on the screw using a screwdriver and was able to tighten it a bit thus allowing the jaws to free. I removed the screw, put some thread locker on the threads and reassembled it. Seems fine now

I have a dc 759 it has a plastic cover over the keyless chuck ....it is stripped out.....can i just replace the plastic cover? .... if so how and where can i get one

If the drill is not too old, I would take it to your nearest factory dewalt repair shop. they have a good warranty on their items. If it is older you probably need to replace the chuck itself. You need to remove the plastic to get the chuck open and then there is a screw down inside the chuck that needs removed. The chuck should come right off and just reverse the process to install the new one.

How to onlock the keyless chuck of my cordless dc988ka drill it was lock to open position

if the chuck is rusted start with some WD-40 on the chuck body. Then what I would do is take a rag and wrap around the chuck collar and using a pair of channel locks grip the collar with enough pressure to hold but not break it and using the tool in the low position pull the trigger switch SLOWLY and see if that doesn't free up the chuck. Let me know if still stuck and I will come up with something else, but this usually works for me.
