Need to turn on DVD/VCR unit inorder to view the TV.

I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ48V (DVD & VCR Recorder) I have to turn on the Panasonic in order to view the TV. Is this right? If not how do I correct the problem. I would like to buy any unit, but want to correct this problem first. Thanks so much Lynn

Hi there, You shouldn't have to turn on the DVD to view the TV only. But if you have it in AV1 mode or DVD then you will, coz it's trying to operate thru the DVD unit. Hope this helps, tho it's been a while since you asked?

See if you can access the factory reset on the VCR, that should send everything back to normal.

This is happening because your DVD is NOT all region, you need to change the Code.
