IF on a mac, Use the software 'image capture' - just load it, and it will identify the camera or iPod or whatever camera-enabled bit of technology you have just attached, via cable, to your computer - and automatically bring up a list of pics/images/movies.
Image Capture will offer you to download the whole 'roll' of pics (& movies) thats on your electronic device, or offer to download a 'selection' of high-lighted ( something you have to do manually) pics/images/movies. You might want to choose a different target folder, for the holding of the downloaded items, or just accept the default folder that Image Capture offer you. :)
Transferring photos from PC to iPod touch is not that difficult. iCloud and iTunes can both be helpful.
Using "Photo Stream" to sync photos automatically with iCloud is pretty convenient. Go to "Settings > iCloud > Photos (Photo Stream on iOS 6)" and then turn on My Photo Stream. Then get your iCloud started on your PC. In the iCloud Control Panel, Check the "Photos" and then enable the "Photo Stream" option. After that, import the photos into the "Photo Stream" folder on your PC, and then you will be able to view the photos on your iPod touch. Using iCloud to transfer photos from PC to iPod touch is easy, but this method needs Wi-Fi connection. Only over Wi-Fi connection can iCloud sync photo on PC with iPod touch.
Using iTunes to sync photos with iPod touch is also easy. But you should be very careful of the syncing function of iTunes because it is a double-edge sword. Once wrong click, you may lose data in your iPod.
1. Plug your iPhone into computer via the USB cable. Launch iTunes if it doesn't launch automatically.
2. Find "File" option on the upper left corner. Then click "Add File to Library".
3. Select photos from your PC and then iTunes will sync the photos to iPhone automatically.
