First determine whether during its failiure RF signal indicator on the receiver is on or off. If on ,check mic capsule or replace it then start using a magnifying glass to search the electronic board for possible "cold solder"joints.

Under which circumstances did it fail? Might be due to internal wiring getting loose or a damaged capsule after you have dropped it. Can you take it apart to confirm that?

Is sm58 wireless mic compatible t4a receiver-shure

The "SM58" is just the cartridge on the top. It would depend on the model of handheld transmitter. The model number is on a sticker in the battery compartment.

SM 58 Beta . . . I dropped it, now only highs come through, no bass.

You damaged the voice coil of the mic. You have to replace the element or buy a new mic.

Try this.... Search google for: shure sm58 wiring diagram
In one of the results you will find diagram and colors in the upper left corner pix. If yours doesn't have those colors, congratulations, you have one of the counterfeit Shure mics that are being sold.

Neumann TLM mic is inoperative when connected to PA with same cable that worked with Shure SM 58 mic

The Shure SM58 is a dynamic microphone instead of the electret one Neumann TLM 103. This means that Shure does not need a phantom power supply voltage, instead of Neumann TLM 103; this one needs 48Volts. Here are the specifications for each one of the microphones: Shure SM 58 - Neumann TLM 103. In case you use a pre-amplifier or an audio console try to locate a switch marked as "Phantom Power" and turn it on. Typically there is no problem supplying a phantom power at the SM58. In case you have no phantom power switch available, either post back the mixer brand / model to check it for you, or post me a question to suggest you one. Details about the usage and the mixer you are already using will help me to clarify the total audio situation.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Vt 2008 mic

The V-Tech mic is actually a clone of the Shure SM-58. There's some discussion about how it is actually made (since V-Tech has no information on their website about their microphone line), but it looks to be made out of aluminum, vs. Shure's Zinc alloy. I believe it will sound the same, it just won't be as rugged as the SM-58.

(I know people who have used an old SM-58 as a hammer to pound stakes for their remote tent into the ground - and it still functioned afterward).
