If this does it with fresh batteries and optical light is clean, also test on a solid colored surface before trying another mouse to see if it is the mouse or system board. Did this start with new download of another web browser? Software install/update? If mouse is older, need to remove ball and clean 3 wheels.

Check which all programs run in background?? maybe its due to high utilization of memory and cpu which results in freezing of this all??

your laptop RAM has been faulty.pls replace it.

re-install the supporting driver.

go onto the support page for the pc you have. ex: if you have dell go to www.dell.com then go to the support section. from there look for mouse/touchpad drivers and update the drivers. that should fix the problem. if the problem continues or if you have no other pc to use insert the operating system cd and re-install the operating system. of course make sure you back up your files first. thank you for using fixya.

If you have a USB mouse, try these steps:

Vista have some problems with USB mouse and sleepmode and as far as I know there is no real "fix" for it so you just have to make sure it doesn't register the mouse while it's in sleep.

thats a laser mouse so its not ur mouse the problem, it is ur internet connection, try not to download anything while playin games online and hopefully it wont freeze that often, hopefully this helps U. :)
