I have a Maytag Atlantis Model MAV7600 top loader w/stainless steel tub. It doesn't seem to be agitating even though it sounds like it is; clothes don't seem to be getting clean. It still spins clothes most of the time--sometimes they are still wet...purchased in 2000; can it be repaired or should I replace?

Its all down to what the cost of the fix will be,,,plus how much use its had,,if its showing its age now, you need to work out yourself if its worth spending your hard earned money on patching it up and it may still pop its socks in a fuw years or buying a nice new one that should give good service,,,plus its nice to show off a new washer to your friends,
you know,,,like,,,look what i got,,,,eat your harts out

I have a Maytag Atlantis MAV6200AWW Washer agitates and spins. Water sometimes empties. Pump is fine spins freely and the impeller is fine. Could it be the belt ?

You will need to check for an article of clothing stuck between the basket and tub that may be partially blocking the drain hole.

How do I get the aggitator out of our Maytag Atlantis - it has a steel tub

most of the maytag agitators simply need to be lifted firmly upward and they'll snap off. Watch your face!

Lint in the wash water/clothes

If you have a regular tub/agitator machine you can fill 1/2 with water, add two cups of white vinegar & allow it to agitate but not empty. Give the machine a break to 'soak', then agitate again. Allow the vinegar-water to sit in the tub between rounds. Do this for the whole day (on weekend?) to give the machine a good cleaning. Often soaking in vinegar will loosen trapped debris so it can go down the drain. It will clean the machine very well even if it does not stop your lint problem. Sounds like there must be some part in the machine that got clogged w/ lint or that there is a hidden lint trap. Read the instruction booklet or try to contact the manufacturer via toll free phone or internet for troubleshooting on the problem. Good Luck!

Missing sock in Maytag Atlantis

it's a possibility that the socks have gone under the agitator but unlikely that they have disappeared alltogether. You can remove the agitator to see if they are there. Tha'ts the best I can tell ya Good Luck

Maytag Atlantis 7600 spin cycle (top load)

the maytag runs in one direction for wash. it reverses to drain and spin - check for a broken or loose belt. maytags I have run into circa 1989 have two belts. as for the softener dispense, there may be a solenoid valve that is supposed to open. may be just a flapper type of valve. softener goes in by gravity feed.

Maytag Atlantis MAV6257AWW

I have a Maytag Atlantis MAV6257AWW. I need to replace the transmission. So I removed all four screws from the inner tub but I couldnt get the inner tub pull out, it's stuck.

From what I read on here, the seal nut doesn't have to be remove in order to remove the inner tub.

I tried every, I even hammer the shaft down from the inside of the tub but still no luck. Can someone help, thanks.

Suem...Check your lid switch. With the lid closed, push on the atuator with a small screw driver...see if it starts agitating. Revised switch kit part number is 12001908. Catriver..post back.
